It was definitely cloth of some kind. Kinda hard to tell in the pic but if you expand it to the high-res version, you can kinda make out how on the A-pillar the black cloth has a raised edge over the yellow paint. Also there's that chrome trim at the base of the C-pillar.

What ungodly purpose do landau tops serve? I get that they were put on every Ford LTD 350 Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance Cartier High Society Delusions Edition between 1975 and 1991, but were they so amazing that there's apparently a cottage industry of landau retrofits? Not bench seats or column shifters or anything in those cars that would actually appeal to old people?
